Inspired by David Perell’s newsletter, I wanted to share the things I learned this week. The learnings aren’t about a specific topic. It’s more of a random mess of things I learned this week. Things I thought were cool, and I hope you find them cool as well.

Notion⌗

I learned of Notion through the Ship 30 for 30 community. I saw references to Notion templates and links, and naturally I was curious. I’ve been using Bear for the past few weeks, and I find it useful for creating simple notes. But Notion is more feature-rich than Bear (e.g. support for table). I’m not abandoning Bear, but I’m adding Notion to my tool belt.

Encanto⌗

Encanto is available on Disney+, and it’s worth watching. Especially if you have little ones. If you’re a fan of One Hundred Years of Solitude, then it’s a must watch. Curse you Lin-Manuel Miranda for creating such catchy songs. I can’t stop saying No se habla de Bruno in tune.

The Manager’s Handbook⌗

I’m an individual contributor, and I don’t plan to switch to a managerial role soon. But I’m curious to learn about the manager’s perspective. The Manager’s Handbook is free online and Mike Crittenden claims “it’s the one book every manager should read.”

Endless Idea Generator⌗

The Endless Idea Generator is magic. I’ve been producing ideas non-stop since I’ve learned it. Nicolas Cole best explains the framework in his Medium post. And like Cole predicted, I have choice paralysis with all these ideas. But it’s a good thing–I think.

Raycast⌗

If you’re a macOS user, imagine Apple’s Spotlight but on steroids. That’s Raycast. I only started using it this week, but I’m enjoying it so far. The built-in calculator and clipboard history is awesome. And you can customize it further by installing extensions built by the community.
